Executive Chef Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated, creative chef who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast paced culinary environment. Our new chef will be responsible for preparing awesome dishes for our guests. Duties will include prepping meals by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, cooking meals, checking ingredients for freshness, and arranging and garnishing the dishes. You will also be in charge of ensuring that the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained. You should also be able to train Line and Prep Cooks and attend all mandatory meetings.


To be successful in this job, you will need a thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation. Culinary school education is preferred, and prior experience in a related position is an advantage.

Executive Chef Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow all food handling procedures and regulations.

  • Check food and ingredients for freshness.

  • Ensure proper food portions and quality of food items.

  • Eliminate waste wherever possible.

  • Accurately record production amounts throughout the meal.

  • Pre-cost menus upon request.Post-cost menu upon completion of meal.

  • May supervise junior level cooks or other kitchen staff.

  • Ability to create cost-effective and customer-driven menus.

  • May assist in the food preparation process to speed up production.

  • Prepare meals and food items to customer specifications as applicable.

  • Work well under pressure and within the time limit.

  • Ensure that kitchen area, equipment and utensils are cleaned.

  • Help lead and inspire our kitchen staff with the restaurant manager.

  • Wow our guests with amazing dishes.

Executive Chef Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Culinary school 2-4 year degree or relevant experience preferred.

  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.

  • Creative niche for food to come up with specialty and feature items for menu

  • Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.

  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.

  • Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.

  • Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
