We are looking for a friendly, organized and professional Cashier who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast paced culinary environment to join our staff. As the first point of contact, you will greet and assist customers with their order as they enter our restaurant. In this position, delivering outstanding customer service will be your main objective. Additional responsibilities include processing food orders, cleaning public spaces, and packaging orders. The ideal candidate will be friendly, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well under pressure.


To be successful as a cashier, you should be a committed, communicative team player with excellent time management skills. You should be able to prioritize tasks in a busy setting and adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures.


Cashier Job Responsibilities:

  • Welcome customers and help take their orders accurately and with a positive attitude.

  • Process customer orders and record them in the restaurant database.

  • Relay customers’ orders to the kitchen staff.

  • Ensure all orders are delivered to the customers in a timely manner.

  • Engage with customers in a friendly manner.

  • Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.

  • Accept cash and return the correct change.

  • Tally money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each work shift.

  • Place food orders in the appropriate bags and boxes.

  • Respond to customer inquiries, issue receipts, and record customer suggestions.

  • Clean and arrange service and kitchen spaces.

  • Help kitchen staff when needed.

Cashier Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

  • Proven experience in a customer service role is an advantage.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Good mathematical skills, able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
